15 minutes to John & Mabel Ringling Art Museum

20 minutes to Ellenton Outlet Mall

30 minutes to a choice of fabulous beaches, Anna Maria Island, as well as Longboat & Siesta Key. 

30 minutes to a variety of wildlife at  Sarasota Jungle Gardens, the Mote Aquarium and the Pelican Man's Bird Sanctuary.   For Floridian nature at its best, try Myakka State Park and see alligators close up from the largest airboat in the world.

30 minutes to the art shops of downtown Sarasota, the cultured shopping and dining of St Armands Circle, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, which regularly entertains big name artists plus the Sarasota Ballet and the Florida West Coast Symphony Orchestra.

40 minutes to St Petersburg, in the North, and Venice to the south - we heartily recommend popping into the Soda Fountain on Main St for a real taste of 20th Century America and Sharkys on the Pier for a great food and entertainment.

50 minutes to Tampa and the thrill a minute theme park at Busch Gardens (with SheiKra, the tallest dive coaster in the world!)

90 minutes to the Universal Studios and Disney theme parks at Orlando.
